I'm really into thrift shopping. And I'm really into photography. And a lot of my favorite photographers on Instagram have gotten into, or else post exclusively on film. I always thought film photos had such a cool, genuine, and unrepeatable feel to them. One day, as I was thrift-shopping I found a Canon TX Film Camera. It still wound, the shutter still went off... it seemed to work! I splurged the $14 and bought the camera. After doing some research at home, I bought a new battery for it, and some rolls of film. (Which, in addition to the cost of developing the film, far exceeded the cost of the camera itself haha.) I didn't know what I was doing at all on the first roll, so was pleasantly surprised when the photos were able to be salvaged with some exposure adjusting in Lightroom! Being able to hold the negatives and see the results of my first roll really motivated me to do more with film. I figured out what I was doing wrong and now I like to think I know what I'm doing!
I'm definitely not an expert, or even close! But I like the photos I've taken on film, and I want to share them. So that's what this page is about.
