Hi! I'm Oliver. Welcome to my website!
I was born at an incredibly young age on a snowy January day in 1998. In fact, for a few seconds, I held the record for being the youngest person on earth! I'm now the oldest of five children in my family, and live in the wonderful city of Boise, Idaho.
I grew up with a love of reading. One day in fifth grade, I decided to try to write the kind of book that I'd love to read.
At age 13, I published my my first book, The Dreamers, having written it during NaNoWriMo less than a year earlier. It earned me a spot as one of Idaho's Top 50 Authors in 2011, and helped name me Idaho's Student of the Year in 2012. When The Nightmarers, its sequel, came out, I was finishing my freshman year of high school.
My 3rd book, Lies, came out in 2014, and spent several months in an Amazon Category Bestseller list. All three of my books have spent time in some category bestseller list, The Dreamers even reaching Amazon's Top 100 Free Books after a viral post to imgur.com that garnered over a quarter million views.
After graduating from high school in 2016, I took my love of phone photography to the next level by purchasing my first camera and delving into the world of portrait photography. By the time I got into film photography after buying a Canon TX at a thrift store, it's safe to say photography had become a passion.
From 2017-2019, I served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arkansas Little Rock Mission, teaching, leading, and doing service from Memphis to Little Rock and beyond. I developed a love for the South and its people, faith, and food.
I'm currently attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, intending to study Marketing.
Nowadays, when I'm not working on book #4, (which is unfortunately quite often!) I enjoy photography, travel, hiking, music-listening, hot spring-ing, TV binge-watching, instagram-browsing, thrift shopping, piano-playing, and mexican food-eating.
I'm a huge fan of music, and I love discovering new bands, going to concerts, and meeting fellow fans! If your awesome synth-rock band needs a pianist/keyboardist/photographer/roadie... let me know.
I love travel and trying new things. Photography is one of the ways I enjoy documenting these adventures. If I could, I'd live out of a van/renovated bus and drive all over the US, taking pictures, peddling my books, and doing freelance work from cafes. Maybe with a rock band involved in there, somewhere.
I've also gotten into Facebook marketing, acting as an independent contractor for several local companies, writing and scheduling posts, promoting events, and helping small businesses find success online.
