Hi! I'm Oliver.
I was born on a snowy January day in 1998. I'm now the oldest of five kids and get to call the beautiful state of Idaho home. I grew up with a love of reading, and one day in the fifth grade, I decided to try to write the kind of book that I'd like to read. At age 13, I published my my first book, The Dreamers, having written it during NaNoWriMo less than a year earlier. It earned me a spot as one of Idaho's Top 50 Authors in 2011, and helped name me Idaho's Student of the Year in 2012. When The Nightmarers, its sequel, came out, I was finishing my freshman year of high school. My 3rd book, Lies, came out in 2014, and spent several months in an Amazon Category Bestseller list. All three of my books have spent time in some category bestseller list, The Dreamers even reaching Amazon's Top 100 Free Books after a viral post to imgur.com that garnered over a quarter million views. After graduating from high school in 2016, I took my love of phone photography to the next level by purchasing my first camera and delving into the world of portrait photography. By the time I got into film photography after buying a Canon TX at a thrift store, it's safe to say photography had become a passion. Photographically, I'm drawn to scenes of nostalgia, stillness, and wonder--particularly among ordinary, every-day scenes. Whether film or digital, portraits or landscapes, photography helps me document the moments that I find beautiful. |
From 2017-2019, I served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arkansas Little Rock Mission, teaching, leading, and doing service from Memphis to Little Rock and beyond. I developed a love for the South and its people, faith, and food.
In 2022, I graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I studied marketing in the Marriott School of Business. Outside of writing and photography, I also enjoy traveling, hiking, music-listening, hot spring-ing, TV binge-watching, instagram-browsing, thrift shopping, piano-playing, and food eating. |
