About "Beneath"After winning an all-expense-paid trip to France from a cereal box context, Chris is kidnapped by a strange race of people that live under the catacombs of Paris. Forced to join a quest to stop the man who ordered his exile, Chris embarks with new friends to journey through this mysterious underground world. From giant millipedes to graveyard forests and magnificent cities, and from bank vaults to bunkers, "Beneath" visits every corner of the Parisian underworld with heavy doses of betrayal, love, pain, and Dahl's usual explosions. With elements of fantasy and thriller rolled into an epic adventure, Oliver Dahl's first full-length novel is sure to entertain.
Author's Note"Beneath" is currently in the writing process, meaning that the first draft is not yet complete. Initially (unsuccessfully) started in 2011, the conceptual draft was abandoned, and later returned to during November of 2013, when over 50,000 words of the novel were written for NaNoWriMo. At about 60,000 words currently, the book sits at roughly a half to a third of the overall expected length.
So being, the writing process will be quite lengthy, and the editing process lengthier. This novel will also quite likely be the first book I traditionally publish. I have been eyeing several publishing companies for a while, now, and plan to submit to those that would continue to allow me the control that I enjoy with self-publishing. However, as the wait will be long nonetheless, I invite you to spend your time reading (and perhaps rereading) my existing works, sharing them with your friends, and leaving reviews on places like Amazon to help ensure the success of this book. I also invite you to participate in the creative process of this novel by becoming an active member of this site and my blog, The Dreamers Adventures. You can begin by telling me which cover you like best! Your vote and feedback will help determine the look of the finished product. Best wishes and happy waiting! Oliver Dahl |
